Patrick Breen
Pat has a Post Degree Diploma in Advanced Business Information Technology, from the College of the North Atlantic. Pat have been developing in Java and working as a Programmer Analyst and Java-based Web Site Developer. He is also familiar with Java Script and HTML. In his spare time he is a member of Jazz Express, and teaches music.

Iain Campbell
Iain holds a Bachelor of Technology degree from Ryerson Polytechnical University, and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario. Iain was involved with a number of CAD/CAM/CAE related research projects, which lead into his involvement with the UNIX operating system. Since 1987, Iain has worked with various versions of UNIX, starting with SunOS, then Linux, AIX and Digital UNIX. Iain has been delivering UNIX systems administration, networking, security and programming courses for a variety of vendors since 1993. He consistently maintains very high instructor evaluations and is very well respected by our clients. Iain is the author of Reliable Linux: Assuring High Availability.

Derek Fedak
Derek holds a licence as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario and has been involved in the UNIX marketplace since 1990. He has been directly involved with a number of large UNIX installations. Derek was involved in the software development (SPARC 5 based) and management of a Solaris network for a large telecommunication company, to monitor and control 150+ environmental control systems. Each system monitored and controlled an individual building. The buildings included everything from a small unmanned equipment shacks to a number of large downtown Toronto office towers. Derek has extensive software development expertise in the UNIX environment, as well as in system administration and installation of large systems.

Dave Goyette
Dave graduated from the University of Waterloo - Computer Science, and is currently completing a Masters of Engineering (M.Eng, Computer Eng.) from the University of Toronto. He worked for nine years with IBM Canada Lab, as team leader on various X.25, ISDN, and Document Imaging Products. He also spent three years as an architect and lead developer for ISG Technologies. He was responsible for the MR Workstation Software for both Philips and Hitachi Medical Systems. Dave also has international experience; he spent one year as an independent consultant in Ethiopia. Most recently he worked on a three tier, Java-based project for the Government of Manitoba where he developed a GUI builder to automatically analyze the middle tier which generated an appropriate UI, and wrote the Business Logic for two of their projects, one using EJB (Enterprise JavaBeans), the other using Oracle 8i.

Jim Gould
Jim Gould has been teaching Solaris Administration for the past eighteen years in Canada and the United States. During the last eleven years, Jim has been teaching Solaris administration, networking, performance tuning and security courses. He previously spent seven years with the Institute for Computer Studies teaching Solaris administration and Computer architecture.

Peter Hatch
Pete has spent more than twenty-six years in the IT field. Starting as a computer Field Engineer through National Tech Support in UK and Europe, and continuing in Canada as the National product introduction support/Tech support in Canada with Honeywell-Bull Information Systems.
He currently consults on hardware, and various versions of Unix, mostly for Sun Microsystems.

Carl Linkletter
Carl holds a Degree in Computing Science from Dalhousie University and has been involved in the Computer industry since 1982. Carl has supported everything from Unix Workstations to Super Computers. He has performed tasks including Technical Sales, System Support, Security and Instruction. Recently he was the architect and developer of a world wide system installation framework for Sun Education.

Jeff Page
Jeff holds a diploma in Electrical Technology from Ryerson Polytechnical University. Since 1988, Jeff has been primarily involved providing consulting services and training for the QNX Realtime Operating System. He has extensive experience configuring TCP/IP networking and recently sold his stake in a startup ISP for which he was the Technical Director. Jeff has experience with a variety of UNIX systems, including Solaris and Linux. Jeff is an accomplished C programmer and has written realtime multitasking kernels for embedded systems, a variety of embedded control products, and a multiline fax broadcast system. He has also written drivers for caching disk controllers, multiport serial cards, X10 power line interfaces and analog/digital converter cards.

Simon Roberts
Simon Roberts acquired 12 years experience as a software engineer in scientific and control systems fields, writing in a variety of assembly languages, C, Modula-2, and C++. Then in 1995, he joined Sun Microsystems as an instructor and course developer. He led programmer certification projects and has recently developed courses on Jini and Jiro, and updated the Sun Java Architecture course.
Simon is co-author of the Sun Certified Enterprise Architecture for J2EE™ Technology Study Guide, the Complete Java 2 Certification Study Guide, and of the Java 2 Developer's Handbook.

Christine Thomson
Christine is a highly skilled computer systems analyst with a specialty in Internet application design and development, with a strong programming background with experience as a programmer and network administrator. She spent a number of years with IBM using her talents as an application designer, experience as a programmer, and extensive knowledge across platforms, working to develop, test, and deploy Java based internet enabled applications. The work required advanced, applied skills and knowledge of IBM’s internet application development and support tools: Visual Age for Java and IBM WebSphere suite of products.

Brad Waddell
Brad started in the IT industry in 1995 as a Systems Administrator. He was a member of a team that implemented an O/S migration at a large financial institution. During his career, Brad has worked with a variety of platforms including Solaris, Microsoft NT, Novell, LANtastic and MAC O/S. Since June 2000, Brad has been delivering Solaris system administration classes for Sun Microsystems in both Canada and the United States, while continuing to certify on new courses in both the System Administration and Enterprise Services path.

Brian Whelpton
Brian is a Certified Engineering Technologist in the Province of Ontario and has been involved in software development and the UNIX operating system since 1986. Brian's Sun OS based software research projects have involved machine vision systems designed specifically for teaching purposes. Brian has been developing and delivering professional development seminars such as - Fiber Optic Cable Installation, Machine Vision, Sales Techniques, AIX for Users, Solaris for Users, LINUX - Intro and System Admin, Intro to the Internet, and The Internet - Exploring Interactive Learning Technologies, since 1989. Brian is the managing associate in Whelpton and Associates Inc.
